Truth, I LOVE Facebook groups! My private Facebook group for photographers is my favorite place to hang out and grow my business! My business has always grown due to Facebook and Facebook groups, and I love that it has been a consistent factor in my business! It has been the driving force behind my business since day 1 – literally, the first week my business started, I started using Facebook groups!
It allowed me to grow my business page by thousands, generated hundreds of leads for my business, and has allowed me to profit multiple 6 figures in clients! Don’t underestimate a Facebook group, y’all! They can be a gold mine. ( I have booked $4,000 brides directly from those groups! )
So here are my 4 tips for using a Facebook group to grow your business!
1. Join the Niche-Specific Groups!
If you are a wedding photographer, join the wedding groups in your area/state! – Nashville Wedding Vendors, Nashville Wedding Swap, Nashville Brides, Tennessee Brides, Tennessee Weddings
If you are a family photographer look for groups like – Nashville Mom’s Group, Nashville Stay At Home Moms, Nashville Mothers Group, Nashville Mom’s Swap Group
2. Learn the rules of the group!
This is a HUGE piece to the puzzle when you join a group, learn the rules! Some groups only allow vendors just to interact and respond to ISO posts; others allow promotion on specific days! The way to do this is, create a google doc with each group and the main rules + days you can promote inside of them! Then set a reminder on your phone for each day that you can promote your service in that group and do so!
3. Introduce yourself in a way that stands out!
Just popping into a group and saying “ Hey I am Abby and I am a wedding photographer. I would love to shoot your wedding“ does me NO good! You want to show up and introduce yourself, who you help, why you are passionate about it, and how you can help them! Then give them some links to view your blog, follow your social media, and to contact you! Then, obviously, share some of your work!
4. Be active in the group!
Become a genuine member and show up and help others! The more you give in these groups, the more you get in return! Answer questions, post tips, do more than promote yourself! – Don’t spam the group but make it a point to show up a few times a week in there!
This tactic does work, but just like anything, it can take some testing and tweaking to get it right!
Go hop on in a Facebook group ( or 5! ) and start showing up, promoting your services, and give value to help the members! Then, tweak your content or approach as you learn what those members respond to consistently!
