3-Step Content Plan for Photographers

This 3-step content plan for photographers is your go-to strategy when creating content feels overwhelming or inconsistent.

Try This 3-Part Rhythm Instead

Raise your hand if you’ve scrolled Instagram lately thinking,
“I really need to post, but my brain just can’t handle it today.”

*guilty*

Something as simple as “creating a quick post” becomes a spiral of second-guessing, Canva tweaking, and abandoning the caption midway through.

We get so caught up in how we’re supposed to show up… What to say, which format to use, what strategy is working right now…

That we forget: it can be really simple.

And the reality is, those who come out on top this fall are the ones who stay consistent in the summer! So, let’s make this simple!

Use This 3-Part Marketing Rhythm: Grow, Nurture, Sell

Ask yourself these three questions each week to guide your content and get results without burnout:

1. How Are You Growing Your Audience?

Reels and tagging posts with contributors are both great options! To simplify this, share a BTS reel with trending audio and show the photos from that moment in the video. Then, tag a client or vendor as a contributor!

Bonus points? Later in the week, create a carousel from that session, add an audio, and tag a new set of contributors!

One session has now become two pieces of content with great reach!

2. How Are You Nurturing the People Already Here?

Think: value-packed carousels, mini-lessons, relatable stories. Stuff that makes your current audience feel seen, supported, or understand how you work!

Walk them through what to expect when working with you or show a BTS video of how you lead sessions so they can HEAR how you will talk and guide them!

You don’t just need new followers—you need people who already follow you to feel seen and supported.

  • Post a mini-lesson about what it’s like to work with you.
  • Share a BTS video so potential clients can hear your tone, see your direction, and build trust before they ever inquire.
  • Write carousels or captions that answer FAQs, tell stories, or educate.

This is what builds connection.

3. Are You Selling?

This is the one most people skip ( or quickly touch on and move on! ).

Remind them how to work with you, share your offers, and use clear CTAs like “Only 5 spots left for summer, DM me the word SUMMER now to claim your spot!”

  • Share your availability clearly.
  • Highlight what’s included in your offer.
  • Use specific calls to action like:
“Only 5 summer spots left—DM me the word ‘SUMMER’ to book!”

Yes, even in the summer. Yes, even when bookings feel slow.

That’s It: Keep It Simple + Repeat Weekly

When you show up with this rhythm each week—Grow, Nurture, Sell—you’re not just “posting for the algorithm.” You’re creating strategic content that actually moves people closer to booking.
