Book Your Next Client & Break the Summer Slump
Feeling stuck in the summer slump? You’re not alone—and the good news is, your next client might already be sitting in your inbox.
You know that inquiry that came in weeks ago – the one you were sure was going to book?
You followed up once.
Maybe twice.
But then?… silence.
Let me tell you something I remind my clients of constantly:
Most people don’t ghost because they’re uninterested ( if that were the case, they wouldn’t have inquired )
They ghost because they’re busy, distracted, or overwhelmed.
And right now?
Everyone’s a little tapped out.
They’re traveling, chasing kids, balancing out of whack routines, and scrolling through their email in line at Target… and then forgetting to respond.
If you’re like most photographers this time of year, you’re juggling late nights, travel plans, and
EVERY SINGLE SUMMER, I have clients tell me that leads who inquired back in MAY & JUNE suddenly booked months later. Why? Because summer got busy, and when things settled down, they were ready to take action.
And the reason those leads came back was because that photographer did their job and stayed in touch!
Let’s be honest. Follow-up emails take you 5 minutes to send.
Most people don’t stick with their follow-ups because of the time commitment; it’s because they lack a plan to make them effective.
Today’s Easy Win: Follow Up & Book Your Next Client
If you haven’t followed up with your May or June leads yet—now’s the time. Go back to your inbox or CRM and send a short, confident message.
Don’t overdo it.
Don’t apologize.
Don’t “just check in.”
Instead:
- Be direct
- Show confidence
- Remind them how to take the next step with you
This simple action can be the thing that helps you break the summer slump and book your next client faster than you think.
Don’t Just Wing Your Follow-Ups
If you feel like following up never works, it might not be your leads—it might be your system.
That’s why I created the Follow-Up Flow Email Stack—a done-for-you resource packed with email templates and strategy walkthroughs to help you follow up with confidence and clarity.
Because most photographers don’t need more leads—they need a better follow-up system!
Keep the Momentum Going
Booking your next client doesn’t require a new strategy—it just requires follow-through. Those ghosted leads aren’t gone forever. They’re waiting for the right nudge at the right time.
So go ahead—send the email, break the slump, and get back into your rhythm.
Our next post we’ll talk about the real reason your clients aren’t booking (hint: it might be your words).
